We’re excited to tip off another season of Journey Hoops, our basketball league for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade hosted at Journey Church. Journey Hoops is designed to give kids of all abilities the opportunity to have fun, build friendships, and grow in character while learning the game. Our dedicated coaches focus on creating a positive experience that emphasizes both skill development and sportsmanship.

We'll host a "Meet Your Coach" Fundraiser at Gattitown in Lexington on 1/4/2026.

Practices and games for Kindergarten – 1st Grade division will be held on Saturdays beginning on 1/10/2026.

Practices for 2nd – 3rd Grade and 4th – 5th Grade divisions will be held on Monday or Tuesday nights beginning on 1/5/2026 and 1/6/2026.

Games for 2nd – 3rd Grade and 4th – 5th Grade divisions will be held on Saturdays beginning on 1/24/2026.

Season concludes on 2/28/2026 if there are no weather-related cancellations.
Player Information

Teams will be divided into three different age divisions, with co-ed teams.

Teams will be limited to 10 players per team.
-
All players must play at least one half of the total game time.
-
No players can play the entire game unless the team only has 5 players present.

Do you have a 6th grader who is interested in playing? If so, please contact Eric Rice, league director. There may be a few openings based on registrations in the 4th/5th grade division.

Involvement Opportunities
We value kids having fun, building relationships, and developing their basketball skills. The key is amazing volunteers! Would you consider helping our team in one of the following areas? Coach, referee, scorekeep, concession stand, set-up/tear-down, end of the year party. If so, please indicate that on your registration form or contact Eric Rice, league director.
**Please note: All volunteers must complete and pass a background check prior to the season starting. Coaches must also attend a mandatory coaches meeting prior to the season starting.
